Surface Engineering Group was founded in 2002. Its founders, Shannon Bosak and Gene Soderberg have over 65 years of combined experience building and operating Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) systems.
The equipment we build is used by large and small companies around the world to deposit high-performance coatings. Over the years, we’ve built over 200 systems for various coating applications.
Many of the systems built have been designed using cathodic-arc technology, although we also build sputtering and dual-process equipment.
We have a standard line of equipment, but we will also retrofit and/or upgrade existing equipment. Some of the upgrades we offer are:
Equipment automation – automate your coating system so it can run unattended.
- More efficient evaporator designs.
- Add radiant heating capabilities.
- Add additional process gas lines.
- Chamber shielding.
- Fixturing and process consultation.
